    Lancetfish are large oceanic predatory fish that are widely distributed in all oceans except the polar seas. They can grow to be as long as six and a half feet. They are voracious predators and their distensible stomachs have often been found to contain a variety of food, such as fish, octopuses, squid, and crustaceans.
